Abstract

\r\n This study investigates the relationship between corruption and social capital in the sample of thirty-nine developed and developing countries. The basic hypothesis of this study is that the incidence of corruption is lower in nations with higher levels of social capital and higher in nations with lower levels of social capital. Empirical evidence based on the cross-country data for the thirty-nine countries supports this hypothesis.\r\n
