Societies were needed educational institutions for future generations to be better. The primary stage of forming an individual's basic education in educational institutions, especially in the first stage, has an important location in achieving the status of wellbeing. Textbooks taught in these institutions, is an important factor in the development of the individual. \r\n İnsanlık tarihi boyunca "iyi" ile "kötü" sürekli mücadele içinde olmustur. Ancak toplumlar, bireylerinin hep "iyi" olmasını istemis; bu hususta gerekli çabayı esirgememistir. Toplumlarda gelecek nesillerin "iyi" olması için, eğitim kurumlarına ihtiyaç duyulmustur. Eğitim kurumları içinde bireyin temel eğitimini olusturan ilköğretim asaması; özellikle de birinci kademesi, "iyi" olma durumunu gerçeklestirmede önemli bir konuma sahip bulunmaktadır. Bu kurumlarda okutulan ders kitapları, bireyin gelisiminde önemli bir faktördür. Arastırmada, ilköğretimin amaçları ve 1-5 ders kitapları "iyilik" kavramı açısından analiz edilmis; bireylerin sahip olması gereken özellikler belirlenmis, ders kitapları; temalar ve üniteler arasında farklılıkların olduğu ortaya konmustur.\r\n
