\r\n Bu çalışmada; Osmanlı yenileşme döneminde Diyarbakır'da açılan Darülmuallimin-i Sıbyan Şubesi'nin kuruluşu ve sonradan eklenen Darülmuallimin-i Rüşdiye kısmının açılış amacı, öğretmenlerinin atanması, öğrenci kabulü ve eğitimi arşiv belgeleri ışığında detaylı olarak anlatıldı. Bunun yanı sıra, söz konusu okulun, başta Diyarbakır olmak üzere çevre illerdeki modern ibtidai ve rüşdiye mekteblerine öğretmen yetiştirerek bölgenin eğitim düzeyinin yükseltilmesi üzerindeki olumlu tesirleri değerlendirildi.\r\n
