Examining the Participation Motives of the Spectators in Konya Islamic Solidarity Games

Özet

Bu araştırma, Konya 2021 İslami Dayanışma Oyunları’na katılan seyircilerin dışsal ve içsel katılım güdülerini belirleyerek bu güdülerin seyircilerin cinsiyet, gelir düzeyi, katılım sağlanan bölge ve yaş faktörlerine göre farklılaşma durumlarını incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma “Kendi Kaderini Tayin Teorisi” ile temellendirilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplamak amacıyla “Spor Seyircileri İçin Dışsal Güdü Ölçeği” ve “Spor Seyircileri İçin İçsel Güdü Ölçeği” ile kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Veriler, kolayda örnekleme yöntemine göre 9-18 Ağustos 2022 tarihinde Konya İslami Dayanışma Oyunlarına seyirci olarak katılan 18 yaş ve üzeri, 149’ u kadın 185’ i erkek toplam 334 katılımcıdan elde edilmiştir. Çalışmada ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Değişkenler arası farklılıklar T testi ve ANOVA ile bağımlı ve bağımsız değişkenler arası ilişki Korelasyon testi ile saptanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre dışsal güdü ölçeğine göre cinsiyet değişkeninde kadınlar lehine, gelir düzeyi değişkeninde orta grubun lehine anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmiştir. Dışsal güdü ölçek puan dağılımlarına göre katılım sağlanan bölge değişkeninde puanların anlamlı olarak farklılaştığı tespit edilmiştir. İçsel güdü ölçeği puan dağılımlarına göre cinsiyet, gelir düzeyi ve katılım sağlanan bölge değişkenlerinde anlamlı farklılık olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca dışsal güdü ölçeği ile yaş arasındaki ilişkide negatif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki tespit edilirken; içsel güdü ölçeği ile yaş arasındaki ilişkide sadece milli duygular alt boyutunda pozitif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the external and internal participation motives of the spectators participating in the Konya 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games and to examine the differentiation of these motives according to the gender, income, region and age factors of the spectators. The research is based on the “Self-Determination Theory”. In order to collect data in the research, "Extrinsic Motivation Scale for Sports Spectators" and "Intrinsic Motivation Scale for Sports Spectators" and personal information form were used. The data were obtained from a total of 334 participants, 149 women and 185 men, aged 18 and over, who attended the Konya Islamic Solidarity Games on 9-18 August 2022, according to the convenience sampling method. Relational screening model was used in the study. The differences between the variables were determined by the T test and ANOVA, and the correlation between the dependent and independent variables was determined by the correlation test. According to the findings, a significant difference was found in favor of women in the gender variable and in favor of the middle group in the income level variable according to the extrinsic motivation scale. According to the extrinsic motivation scale score distributions, it was determined that the scores differed significantly in the participating region variable. It was determined that there was no significant difference in the variables of gender, income level and the city participated in according to the intrinsic motivation scale score distributions. In addition, while a negative significant relationship was found in the relationship between the extrinsic motivation scale and age; It was determined that there was a positive and significant relationship only in the sub-dimension of national feelings in the relationship between the intrinsic motivation scale and age.
