Abstract
Introduction: This study was conducted to determine the validity and reliability of the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale, which was developed to determine the anxiety levels of adults regarding the coronavirus pandemic, in adolescents. Methods: The methodological type study was completed with 300 adolescents. The data were collected with the personal information form created by the researchers, the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale (CAS) and the Coronavirus 19 Phobia Scale (C19P-S). SPSS 22 package program was used to evaluate the data. The reliability of the CAS was evaluated with internal consistency analyses, and parallel form validity was performed with C19P-S. Results: Cronbach's Alpha value of CAS was found to be 0.903. It was determined that the CAS was parallel and compatible with the C19P-S used in parallel form validity (r=0.596; p<0.001). It was determined that the item-total correlation of the items of the scale was high and the internal consistency was at a good level. Conclusion: In the study, it was determined that the CAS is a valid and reliable measurement tool to assess anxiety about the coronavirus pandemic in adolescents. Our recommendation is to use CAS in adolescents as well and to provide necessary psychological support to adolescents who are at risk.
