Abstract
The aim of this research is to develop a concept test supported by concept cartoons for the subject of "oral and dental health" in the 9th grade health information lesson and to conduct validity-reliability studies of this test. The two-stage test was applied to a total of 268 9th grade students studying at two different high schools in Giresun city center. There are a total of 23 items in the two-stage test. Reliability, validity and item analysis studies were conducted for the test. KR-20 and reliability coefficient (Cronbach Alpha) values were calculated for the reliability analysis of the two-stage test. As a result of the analyzes, the KR-20 value was calculated as 0.807 and the Cronbach Alpha value as 0.808. As a result of the item analysis, it was seen that the item difficulty (p) was 0.40, and the discrimination index (d) was 0.42. It has been concluded that the two-stage test developed in the light of these values is a valid and reliable concept test that can be used as an alternative to traditional tests and to determine the alternative concepts of 9th grade students about oral and dental health.
