Beceri Temelli Orantısal Akıl Yürütme Başarı Testinin Geliştirilmesi

Özet

Bu araştırmada ortaokul öğrencilerinin orantısal akıl yürütme becerisini ölçecek bir orantısal akıl yürütme beceri testi geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Testte yer alacak problemler; problem türü, matematik dersi öğretim programına uygunluğu, uzman önerileri ve istatistiki hesaplamalar dikkate alınarak oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmanın veri toplama sürecinde başarı testi geliştirme aşamaları dikkate alınarak 216 sekizinci sınıf öğrencisinden veriler toplanmıştır. Geliştirilen orantısal akıl yürütme beceri testinin nihai formu on problemden oluşmaktadır ve bu problemlere ilişkin madde güçlük indeksi değerleri 0.51 ile 0.59 arasında, düzeltilmiş madde toplam korelasyon değerleri ise 0.41 ile 0.56 arasında hesaplanmıştır. Testte yer alan problemler bilinmeyen değeri bulma, niceliksel karşılaştırma, niteliksel karşılaştırma ve ters orantı olmak üzere dört farklı problem çeşidinden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilerin analizleri neticesinde geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı geliştirildiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Geliştirilen ölçme aracı ortaokul öğrencilerinin orantısal akıl yürütme becerilerinin ölçülmesinde, oran ve orantı kavramlarına yönelik genel başarı düzeylerini ve farklı problem türlerine yönelik başarı düzeylerini belirlemede kullanılabilir.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a skills-based proportional reasoning test to assess the proportional reasoning skills of middle-school students. Problems in the test were developed based on the problem type, suitability to the mathematics curriculum, expert suggestions and statistical calculations. Data were collected from 216 eighth-grade students considering the test development stages. The final version of the test consisted of ten problems. The item difficulty index values for the problems in the final version were calculated between 0.51 and 0.59, and the corrected item-total correlation values were between 0.41 and 0.56. These problems included four different types of problems: finding the missing value, quantitative comparison, qualitative comparison and inverse proportion. The analysis of the data obtained from the research revealed that a valid and reliable measurement tool was developed. The developed measurement tool can be used to assess the proportional reasoning skills of middle school students, to determine the general success levels of the students for the concepts of ratio and proportion, and to determine the level of success for different types of problems.
