Özet17. yüzyıl başında Osmanlı tahtına çıkan Sultan I.Ahmed devrinin bellibaşlı olayları, İran ve Avusturya savaşları ile Celali isyanlarıdır. Bununlaberaber, denizlerde de önemli faaliyetlerde bulunulmuş, ülkeyi çevreleyendenizlerde 16. yüzyılda kurulan hakimiyet ve sağlanan emniyet devamettirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bunun için Osmanlı donanması hemen her seneAkdeniz de sefere çıkmış ve hayli mühim muharebelerde bulunmuştur.İmparatorluk sahillerine taarruz eden İspanya, Toskana, Malta ve Floransagemileri ile müteaddit çarpışmalar olmuş; zaferler kazanılmış, mağlubiyetleralınmıştır. Karadeniz'de de Kazakların Sinop balkını üzerine bir seferdüzenlenmiştir. Bütün bu faaliyetler, donanmanın durumu, başarı vebaşarısızlıkları bu makalenin konusudur. Ahmad EraWars with Iran and Austria and Celali revolts constitue the most importantevents of the era of Sultan Ahmet I who suceeded to the throne at the begenningof 17th century. However, some important steps have been taken in the seas anddomination and security in the seas in the 16th century surrounding the countryhave been kept. For this very reason, the Ottoman navy has started to cruisesand attended some prominent seawars. Numerous wars have been taken placewith the ships of Spain, Toscana, Malta and Florance which attacked the coastsof empire; they have been both victorious and defeated. A cruise has beenstarted in Black Sea due to cm attack of Khazaks to Sinop. All these activities,(he general situation of the navy, victories and defeats constitute the subject ofthis article.
