Abstract
The story of Abraham, one of the most important prophets of the three monotheistic religions, is presented as a tragic account of a journey of faith, a parable of devotion. Abraham is a historical figure, an archaic religious person, in whom the wholehearted belief, the real devotion that overcomes the most complicated emotional situations possible for man are embodied. Abraham's journey of faith is about an experience representing that belief is a serious test. In his journey, believing is not a humanitarian situation that can be expressed in words, but a matter of trial that requires facing all kinds of prices for it. Abraham is tested. Abraham does not give up and does not hesitate. This intrepid journey will make him a prophet. For a philosophical research, Abraham's journey is a striking example of discussing the issue of belief. Abraham's test allows for a philosophical inquiry on belief. In his infamous work Fear and Trembling, Kierkegaard focuses on the questions of this journey that are important for philosophy. These questions will be addressed in this study.
