READING THE CENTER-PERIPHERY STRUGGLE IN TURKEY THROUGH NATIONAL EDUCATION SYSTEM

Özet

Türkiye’nin Cumhuriyet dönemi eğitim politikasını, merkez-çevre ikiliği bağlamında ele almak mümkündür. Bu politikalardaki değişim çerçevesinde, dört alt döneme ayırabileceğimiz süreçte; merkezi temsil eden değerlerin, çevreyi temsil eden değerlerin etkisi ile dönüştüğü söylenebilir. Bu değişimin izlenebileceği en belirgin alan ise dinsel etkidir. Bu süreçte dinin, millî eğitim sistemindeki etkisi, giderek artmıştır. Bu durumun kaynağı ise siyasal alandaki dönüşümde aranmalıdır. Abstract

It is possible to discuss Turkey’s education policies of the Republican era in the context of center-periphery dichotomy. Within the framework of the change in these policies, in the process that we can divide into four sub-periods; it can be said that the values representing the center are transformed by the effect of the values representing the periphery. Religious influence is the most obvious area where this change can be monitored. In this process, the influence of religion on the national education system gradually increased. The source of this situation should be sought in the transformation in the political sphere.
