Abstract
Purpose: In this study, it is aimed to determine the mediating role of self-efficacy perception of entreprenurship education on intensions of entrepreneurship with the participation of students who are taken the relevant course. Methodology: The structural equation modelling is applied by using the data to those third year 571 students who have completed the course of Entrepreneurship and Small-Size Businesses at Bandirma Onyedi Eylül University. The mediating analyses suggested by Baron and Kenny (1984) and Zhao et al. (2010) are employed in examining the mediating effect. Findings: As a result of the research, it is concluded that entrepreneurship education positively and significantly affect students’ entrepreneurship intentions and that self-efficacy perception creates a partial mediating effect in this relationship. In other words, entrepreneurship education indirectly affects entrepreneurship intent through self-efficacy. Practical Implications: It was determined that entrepreneurship education has an effect on entrepreneurship intention by providing self-efficacy belief. Therefore, in order to determine the response of these factors that affect entrepreneurship intent in real life, it is recommended that both educators and company authorities develop practices that can detect individuals’ susceptibility to entrepreneurship and provide continuity in this regard. Originality: This study is unique in terms of examining the impact of entrepreneurship intent through self-efficacy on students who are trained within the KOSGEB support program.
