The Temporary Endowments: Its Nature and Public Interest

Abstract

ABSTRACT Many Islamic countries has myriad of endowments, but they are not great use to the societies at a large scale due to various reason. One of them is the fervent adherence to a particular jurisprudence thought or the juristic different opinions in different views. As well the temporary endowment was one of the issues that include jurisprudence different opinions. These different views elicit a question whether temporary endowment complies with the requirements of endowment as everlasting charity or does not? This research aims to explain the nature of temporary endowment, its rulings and public interest. A qualitative methodology was employed to analyses the literature through inductive and deductive methods. The researcher found that the temporary endowment does not disparate endowment objectives however, it brings financial solution especially in today’s global world. This research encourages to use of both temporary and permanently endowments should be expanded and made global so that they can be fully utilized to accomplish religious, social, national, political, and cultural aspirations of Muslims around the world.
