Özet
The Turkish or the Ottoman has been presented in the writings of Louis Bernard as a representative of Eastern Muslim. The features of dualism of Islam and the West began to take shape in the seventh century A.D. replacing Christianity in the Levant and Jerusalem. However, the main reason for which the Ottoman was a distinctive subject of Orientalism is that Muslim Ottomans existed as military power at the borders of Europe. Louis Bernard tracks texts referred to the Ottoman Muslim, in the archive of correspondences, texts of history and writings about travels, revealing the methodology of representing him as ”the other“.
