Özet

Özellikle 19. yüzyılın ikinci yarısından itibaren Osmanlı Devleti'nde dilde sadeleşme ve reform çalışmaları başlamıştır. Arapçanın Türkçe ifadeleri karşılayamaması ve gramer farklılıkları nedeniyle Arapçada reform çalışmaları düşünülmüş olsa da Kuran yazısı olması nedeniyle bu çalışmalar başlamadan sona erdi. Zaman içerisinde yeni alfabe de dâhil olmak üzere dil reformu konusunda farklı düşünceler ortaya atıldı ve farklı çalışmalar yapıldı. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin kurulmasının ardından bu çalışmalar, Reis-i Cumhur Mustafa Kemal Paşa'nın öncülüğünde hız kazandı. Beklenen harf inkılâbı 1 Kasım 1928 tarihinde TBMM'de kabul edilen kanun ile gerçekleşti. Bu çalışma ile Osmanlı'dan Cumhuriyet'e harf inkılâbına giden süreç ele alınacaktır.

Abstract

Especially from the second half of the 19th century, reform movements in language had started in the Ottoman Empire. Because Arabic cannot satisfy Turkish language and grammar differences of two languages there have been reform thoughts in Arabis language but owing to the religious character of Arabic language these reforms couldn't be realised. Within time lots of different thoughts including a new alphabet put forward and different studies had done about this subject. After the establishment of the Turkish Republic, this studies, with the leadership of president Mustafa Kemal Pasha, gained acceleration. The expected alphabet revolution came with the law accepted by Turkish Grand National Assembly on 1st November 1928. With this paper, it is aimed to put forth the process of the revolution from the Ottoman era to the republican period.
