Özet
1898-1903 yılları arasında yayınlanan Maarif Salnameleri Osmanlı Devleti'nin genel eğitim sistemini ve politikasını yansıtan en önemli kaynaklardan biridir. Bu salnameler ile Osmanlı coğrafyasındaki tüm eğitim faaliyetlerini incelemek mümkün olmaktadır. Ülkede mevcut olan okulların öğrenci ve öğretmen sayıları, okullarda eğitim alan öğrencilerin hangi dine ve millete ait oldukları, okulların türleri gibi istatistiki bilgilere bu salnameler ışık tutmaktadır. Çalışma alanımız olan Adapazarı, dönem itibariyle İzmit Sancağı'na bağlı bir kazadır ve bu bölgede yoğun eğitim faaliyetlerinin olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Bölgenin eğitim faaliyetlerini daha iyi anlayabilmek ve bir çıkarımda bulunabilmek için bu veriler bizlere eşsiz fırsatlar sunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada 1898-1903 yılları arasında Adapazarı ve civarında eğitim veren gayrimüslimlere ait okullar irdelenmektedir. Bu okulların 1898-1903 yılları arasındaki istatistiki bilgileri ayrıntılı bir şekilde ele alınmış ve bu veriler birbiri ile mukayese edilmiştir.
Abstract
Maarif Salnames published beetween 1898-1903 is one of the most important sources reflecting the general education system and the policy of the Ottoman State. With these salnames, it is possible to examine all educational activities in the Ottoman geography. These salnames shed light on the statistical information such as the number of students and teachers of the schools in the country, the religion and nationality of the students receiving education in schools, and the types of schools. Adapazari, which is our area of study, is an district connected to the Sanjak of Izmit as of the period and it is understood that there are intensive educational activities in this region. These data provide us with unique opportunities in order to better understand the educational activities of region and make an inference. In this study, schools belonging to non-Muslims who teach in Adapazari and its around between 1898-1903 are examined. The statistical information of these schools between 1898-1903 was discussed in detail and these data were compared with each other.
