SEÇMELİ BİLİM UYGULAMALARI DERSİNİN 7. SINIF ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN FEN TUTUMUNA ETKİSİ

Özet

Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’nın 2012-2013 eğitim öğretim yılından ortaokulların haftalık ders programına eklediği seçmeli derslerden biride seçmeli bilim uygulamaları dersidir. Bu çalışma; seçmeli bilim uygulamaları dersinin 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin fene yönelik tutumuna etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada veriler yarı deneysel yöntemle toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Ağrı il merkezinde, benzer demografik özelliklere sahip, iki ortaokulda öğrenim gören 212 yedinci sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada seçmeli bilim uygulamaları dersini almayan 105 yedinci sınıf öğrencisi “kontrol grubu” seçmeli bilim uygulamaları dersini alan 107 yedinci sınıf öğrencisi “deney grubu” olarak kabul edilmiştir. Otuz üç hafta süren araştırma kapsamında, ders kitabı ve öğretmen kılavuz kitabı olmayan seçmeli bilim uygulamaları dersinin, öğretim programında yer alan 21 kazanımı, araştırmacılar tarafından belirlenen etkinliklerle verilmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, literatürden alınan ve Cronbach alfa güvenirlik katsayısı 0.80 olarak yeniden hesaplanan fene yönelik tutum ölçeği testi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler bağımsız t-testi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada yedinci sınıf öğrencilerinin fene yönelik tutumlarına seçmeli bilim uygulamaları dersinin anlamlı bir etkisi olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır (p=.001<.05).

Abstract

Elective Science Applications Course is one of the elective courses which Ministry of National Education (MONE) added it to weekly time Schedule of secondary schools since 2012-2013 academic year. This study has been conducted to determine the effect of Elective Science Applications course on 7th grade students' attitude towards science. The study data were collected with semi-experimental method. The sample of the study consists of 212 7th grade students who were in the same demographic ballpark. In the study 107 students who had Elective Science Applications (ESA) course were administrated as experimental group and 105 students who didn't have were chosen as control group. Within the framework of thirty-three weeks lasted study, 21 already scheduled educational attainments of Elective Science Applications course which has no a teacher’s guidebook and a course book for instructors tried to be given the students in the experimental group. In the study as a data collection tool a attitude towards science test taken from litearture and was used. The Cronbach Alfa coefficient of the attitude towards science test recalculated and was found .80. The obtained data were analyzed using independent t-test. In the study it is concluded that the Elective Science Applications course has a significant effect on 7th grade students’ attitude towards science (p=.001<.05).
