Fen Bilimleri Dersinde Eğitim Bilişim Ağı (EBA) Kullanımının Ortaokul Öğrencilerinin Akademik Başarılarına Etkisi

Özet
Ülkemizde Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı, 2011 yılında Fırsatları Arttırma ve Teknolojiyi İyileştirme Hareketi (FATİH) projesini uygulamaya koymuş olup, proje kapsamında, Eğitim Bilişim Ağı (EBA) olarak adlandırılan çevrim içi bir içerik olan eğitim platformu geliştirilmiştir. Bu çalışma, ortaokul 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin Fen Bilimleri dersinde Dolaşım Sistemi konusunda EBA kullanımının öğrenci başarısı üzerine etkililiğini incelemek amacı ile yapılmıştır. “Kontrol gruplu ön-test/son-test modeli” ne uygun deneysel bir çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. EBA içeriği ile ders alan öğrenciler deney grubunu, yenilenen ilköğretim programına dayalı öğrenme yöntemi ile ders alan öğrenciler ise kontrol grubunu oluşturmuştur. İki deney grubu yansız atama ile oluşturulmuş ve her iki gruba da öğretimden önce ön-test, öğretimden sonra da son-test uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada, EBA platformunu kullanılarak öğretim alan öğrenci grubu ile yenilenen ilköğretim programına göre öğretim alan öğrenci grubunun akademik başarıları arasında anlamlı bir farklılığın olup olmadığına bakılmıştır. Araştırma grubunu, Muğla ili Menteşe ilçesinde yer alan bir devlet okulunda 6. sınıf şubesinde öğrenim gören 56 (deney grubu:29; kontrol grubu:27) öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucu elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, deney grubundaki öğrencilerin EBA platformu içerikleri uygulandıktan sonra kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere göre akademik başarılarının yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu bulgular doğrultusunda, eğitim ortamlarında teknoloji destekli EBA kullanımının ortaokul öğrencilerinin akademik başarısını arttırmada etkili bir yol olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
Abstract
In Turkey, Ministry of National Education launched the FATİH Project (Movement of Enhancing Opportunities and Improving Technology Project) in 2011; an educational e-content platform called Educational Informatics Network (EBA) was developed within the scope of this project. This study aims at investigating the effect of teaching the topic of the Human Circulatory System with EBA in science lesson of 6th grade on elementary students’ achievement. An experimental study was carried out in accordance with the "pre-test / post-test model with control group". The students taking the lesson with EBA content formed the experimental group, while the students taking the lesson with the new primary education program formed the control group. In the study, the two experimental groups were created in this study by using random assignment, and the pre-test was administered to all subjects in both groups before teaching while the post-test was administered to all subjects in both groups after teaching. In the study, whether there is a meaningful difference between scores of the students taking the lesson with EBA content and the students taking the lesson with the new primary education program was investigated. The study group consisted of 56 6th grade students (experimental group: 29, control group: 27) from an elementary school located in the Menteşe district of Muğla province. The obtained data were analyzed with SPSS packet program. As a result of the study findings, it was found that the students in the experimental group were more successful than those in the control group after implementing EBA platform contents. In line with these findings, it was concluded that the use of technology-supported EBA in educational environments is an effective way in increasing the elementary students’ academic achievements.
