Abstract
The insurance sector is a very important sector for the economy in terms of covering the micro-damages and creating resources for financial markets on a macro basis. Therefore, the financial performance of the insurance sector needs to be determined. The aim of this study is to analyze and evaluate the financial performance of the non-life branch of the insurance sector in the period between 2012 and 2016 by using Entropy Weighted TOPSIS (Technique for Order). Since the financial statements of the insurance sector are different from other sectors, both financial ratios and technical ratios are converted into a single score for the non-life branch by means of the TOPSIS method with the Entropy Weighted (TOPSIS) method by taking the criteria separately, and the years are successful and unsuccessful for the two set of criteria. As a result of the study, 60% similarity was obtained for the financial and technical ratios. In addition, the most effective financial ratio is Asset profitability ratio and the most effective technical ratio is Technical allowance ratio.
