EDİRNE BEYLERBEYİ CAMİSİ’NİN MİMARİ AÇIDAN İNCELENMESİ

Özet

Bu çalışmada, Edirne Beylerbeyi Külliyesi’nin bir parçası olan Beylerbeyi Cami’nin mimari özellikleri irdelenmiştir. Çalışmanın materyali Beylerbeyi Cami olup yerinde yapılan tespitler, rölöve ve fotoğraflardan yararlanılmıştır. Bununla birlikte, konuyla ilgili literatür taraması yapılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında külliyenin sadece camisi ele alınmış olup türbe, hazire ve hamam yapıları, çalışma konusunun dışında tutulmuştur. Beylerbeyi Cami, ters T şeklindeki zaviyeli bir cami olup Bursa üslubundaki bu tip yapıların genel tipolojisine uygun bir plan şeması vermektedir. Beylerbeyi Cami’nin ibadet mekânının yarım altıgen bir şekle sahip olması ve üst örtüsünün dilimli kubbeden oluşması, bu yapıyı diğerlerinden farklı hale getirmektedir. Bunun dışında kesme taş duvarların üzerindeki kirpi saçaklar, kalem işleri ve sülüslü yazılar da yapının dikkat çekici özellikleri arasındadır. Yapılan araştırmalara göre bu yapının fazla sayıda onarım gördüğü ve bu onarımlar sırasında yapının özgünlüğünün zarar gördüğü söylenebilir. Bunun yanı sıra yapının koruma sorunları da mevcuttur. Ancak buna rağmen yapı, belli bir sanat üslubunu yansıtması ve üslubun nadide örneklerinden biri olması yönüyle mimarlık tarihi açısından önem arz etmektedir. Bu özelliğiyle korunması gerekli bir kültür varlığıdır. Korunarak gelecek nesillere aktarılması için gerekli çalışmalar yapılmalıdır.

Abstract

In this study, the architectural features Beylerbeyi Mosque that is a part of Edirne Beylerbeyi architectural complex were dealt with. The material of the study is Beylerbeyi Mosque and determinations on place, measured drawing in situ and photographs were utilized. In addition to this, literature review about the subject was made. In the extent of study, only the mosque was dealt with. Tomb, burial area and hammam are not included in the study. Beylerbeyi Mosque is a zawiyah mosque in reverse T shape and it shows a plan scheme appropriate for the general typology of these kind of buildings in Bursa style. The fact that sanctuary of Beylerbeyi Mosque has a half hexagonal shape and the upper part consists of cusped dome makes this building different from other. Apart from this, sawteeth eaves, ashlar stone works, stenciled decoration and ornate calligraphy (sulus) are also noticeable. According to the researches made, it can be said that this building has been repaired pretty much and during these repairs, the authentic value of it could be harmed. In addition, there are conservation problems of the mosque. Despite this, it carries importance in terms of the fact that it reflects a particular art style and it is one of the unique samples of the style. Because of this feature, it is a cultural asset needing to be conserved. Necessary works should be made in order to conserve it, transfer to future generations.
