Abstract
Human should be assessed holistically with biopsychosocial and social aspects . The change that can occur in any of the human-made parts may cause the individual to be affected physically, psychologically and socially. For centuries, being physically healthy and beauty for the person has become quite important. Individuals are resorting to plastic-reconstructive surgery units to be pleased with their appearance and to reshape broken body parts. It is important to assess the patients who come for this purpose psychologically and to support them before, during and after surgery. Any attempt that threatens the integrity of the body can create a problem in the individual's perception of the body. For this reason, it is one of the most important factors that nurses can establish a trusting relationship with the patient and enable the individual to express himself comfortably. Nurses need to have knowledge and competence in terms of psychosocial to provide necessary support to patients and their relatives for this issues and at the same time have to take the responsibility to continuously develop this competency.
