Veriler öğrencilerin sosyo-demografik özelliklerini, tamamlayıcı sağlık yaklaşımlarını (TSY) kullanma durumlarını saptamaya yönelik geliştirilen anket formu ile toplandı. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde; ki-kare ve bonferroni testi kullanıldı. Bulgular: Üniversiteli kız öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 18.8±0.8 olarak bulundu. Katılımcıların %99,6’sının bekâr, %65.7’sinin gelir durumunun orta düzeyde olduğu, %79.9’unun TSY kullandığı belirlendi. Öğrencilerin TSY olarak %85 egzersiz, %73.2 müzik dinleme, %67.7 masaj, %55.1 sıcak-soğuk kompres, %44.7 duş alma, %42.9 uyku, %1.3 yoga, %1 akupunktur, %0.3 hipnoz; alternatif tedavi yöntemleri (bitkisel ve besinsel yaklaşım) olarak %87 bitkisel terapi, %85.8 vitamin-mineral kullandıkları bulundu. Sonuç: Üniversiteli kız öğrencilerin büyük çoğunluğu TSY kullanmaktadır. TSY’ndan en fazla bitkisel terapiye başvurulmaktadır. Üniversite öğrenimi sırasında evde kalan ve sigara kullanan kız öğrenciler TSY yöntemlerini daha fazla kullanmaktadır.
