Özet

Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’deki önemli eğitim kurumlarından biri olan Yatılı İlköğretim Bölge Okulları’nın (YİBO) kuruluş sürecine farklı devlet seçkini ve kurumunca hazırlanan raporlar ile Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi’ndeki tartışmalar üzerinden odaklanılacaktır. YİBO’ların kurulma gerekçelerinin asimilasyonla ve mekânsal dağılımlarının iskân politikalarıyla nasıl bir ilişkisi olduğu ele alınmaya çalışılacaktır. Böylece, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin erken dönemlerinde uygulanan asimilasyon ve iskân politikalarının birbiriyle ilişkisi farklı bir yerden ortaya konmaya çalışılacaktır

Abstract

This study will focus on the establishment process of the Regional Primary Boarding Schools (RPBS), one of the most important elements within the education system in Turkey, on the basis of the reports prepared by different government elites and institutions and of the debates held in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Moreover, the reasons for establishing RPBSs and the spatial distribution of RPBSs will be associated with, and further discussed in regard to, the assimilation and settlement policies, respectively. The relationship between the assimilation and settlement policies implemented during the early years of the Republic of Turkey will thus be examined from a different perspective
