Abstract

After the collapse of the reel socialist experience towards the end of twentieth century, the class struggle as a method begins to cease for the oppressed. Instead, new strategies/practices called ‘popular politics’ by Partha Chatterjee reveals. This new method of struggle called ‘popular politics’ adopts a flexible way of struggle in parallel with the flexible management strategy of the neo-liberal era. From this perspective, in the novel Berji Kristin: Tales from the Garbage Hills by Latife tekin, instead of the shrinking class struggle, the limitations and possibilities of ‘popular politics’ as a proposal of including every segments of society for a wide range of opposition and a new fighting line is evaluated
