Özet
Bu araştırmada, stres yönetim tekniklerinde kullanılan sportif faaliyetler içerisinde yer alan geleneksel bir Çin sporu olan Tai Chi Chuan’in, çalışanların iş stresi ve psikolojik iyilik hali düzeylerine etkisi saptanmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla bir alan deneyi çalışması tasarlanmıştır. Deney, özel sektör ve kamu sektöründen çalışanlardan oluşan karma iki farklı grup ile ön test-son test kontrol gruplu model şeklinde yürütülmüş; 27 kişiden oluşan deney grubu 2 ay boyunca Tai Chi Chuan eğitimine tabi tutulurken aynı sayıda katılımcıdan oluşan kontrol grubu benzer hiçbir aktiviteye katılmamıştır. Deney öncesi ve sonrası katılımcılara uygulanan yapılandırılmış soru formları ile iş stresi ve psikolojik iyilik hali düzeyleri ölçülmüş, analizler yardımıyla seviyeleri karşılaştırılmıştır. Eğitim sonrasında Tai Chi Chuan eğitimi alan grubun iş stresi seviyelerinde düşüş; psikolojik iyilik hali seviyelerinde eğitim öncesine göre anlamlı bir artış gözlenirken, kontrol grubunda ise anlamlı hiçbir değişiklik gözlenmemiştir. Bulgular ışığında; yavaş, yumuşak ve koreografik hareketlerden oluşan geleneksel bir uzak doğu sporu olan Tai Chi Chuan’ın çalışanların iş streslerini azaltmaya ve genel psikolojik iyilik hali düzeylerini arttırmaya yönelik olarak uygulanabileceği sonucuna varılmıştır.Anahtar kelimeler: İş stresi yönetimi, psikolojik iyilik hali, geleneksel spor egzersizleri, tai chi chuan.
Abstract
In this research, the effect of traditional Chinese sport Tai Chi Chuan, which is involved in as sport exercises for stress management programs, on employees’ work-related stress and psychological well-being levels has been tried to determine. For this purpose, a field experiment has been designed. The experiment has been conducted with two mixed different groups consisting of private and public sector employees in the form of pretest-posttest control group model. Control group (consisting of 27 people) has not been involved in any similar activities while putting experiment group (same number of participants) through Tai Chi Chuan training for 2 months. Work-related stress and psychological well-being levels have been measured with the survey forms applied to the participants before and after the experiment and their levels have been compared with the help of the analysis. At the end of the training, while a decrease in work-related stress level of the participants who got Tai Chi Chuan training, psychological well-being levels of them showed a significant increase compared to their pre-test results, on the other hand, there was no significant change in the control group. In the light of the findings, it has been concluded that traditional Far East sport Tai Chi Chuan, which comprises slow, soft and choreographic movements, can be applied to employees to increase their psychological wellbeing levels and to decrease their work-related stress levels.
