Özet

Üniversiteler, yoksulluğun azaltılmasında, ekonomik büyümenin artırılmasında, nitelikli insan kaynağı üretilmesinde, sağlıklı ve bilinçlendirilmiş bir sosyal çevre oluşturulmasında ve ulusların kendi kendini yetiştirmesinde en güçlü faktör olduğu genel olarak algılanmaktadır. Ülkemizde son yıllarda önemli üniversiteleşme hareketi gözlenmektedir. Bu hareketlilikle birlikte her ile bir üniversite açılmaya başlanmış, küçük çaplı üniversitelerin de birimleri genişletilerek büyük üniversitelere dönüştürülmeye çalışılmaktadır. Böylelikle bölgeler arasındaki gelişmişlik farkı azaltılarak, sosyo-kültürel ve ekonomik olarak bölgelerin gelişmesi sağlanmak istenmektedir. Çalışmada Hitit Üniversitesinin, içinde bulunduğu il olan Çorum ilinin ekonomisine ve sosyo-kültürel yapısına katkısı incelenmiştir. İnceleme yapılırken örneklem grubu olarak İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi öğrencilerinin görüşlerinden faydalanılmıştır. 402 öğrenciye uygulanan anketlerden elde edilen bulgular üniversitenin Çorum ilinin ekonomisine olumlu katkı sağladığını göstermektedir. Talep artışı, istihdam artışı ve gelir seviyesindeki yükseliş elde edilen bulgulardan bazılarıdır. Sosyo-kültürel açıdan ise üniversite ile il halkı arasında tam bir kaynaşmanın yaşanmadığı bulgulanmıştır. Ayrıca çalışmada; üniversitenin ile yaptığı katkı düzeyinin, öğrencilerin demografik özelliklerine göre farklılaştığı da tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract

Universities are the most effective factor in decreasing poverty, raising economic growth, producing skilled human resource, occurring a healthy and conscious social environment and self-raising nations. In our country, there has been important universalization movement in recent years. University has been opened in everywhere, and small-scale universities are transformed larger universities by expanding their units. Thus, it is intended to develop of regions as socio-cultural and economic by reducing the development gap between the regions. In this study, contribution of Hitit University to the economy and socio-cultural structure of the province of Çorum was investigated. While the study was carried out, the views of the students of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences were used as a sample group. The findings obtained from the surveys applied to 402 students show that the university contributes positively to the economy of Çorum province. Some of the findings obtained are increase in demand, increase in employment and increase in income level. In terms of socio-cultural, there was no complete fusion between the university and the people of the province. In the study, it is also determined that contribution of the university to city differs according to the demographic characteristics of students.
