Özet

Cahiliye dönemine aitolup “muallakât” ismiyle bilinen kasideler, Arap Edebiyatının en seçkin metinleri olarak kabul görmüşlerdir. Edebî ürünlerin, başta Kur’ân tefsiri olmak üzere İslamî ilimlerde önemli bir istişhad kaynağı olması, genel anlamda şiirin özelde ise muallakaların öneminin bir hayli artmasına vesile olmuştur. Gösterilen yoğun ilgi, tarih boyunca bu kasideler üzerine tercüme ve şerh türü pek çok çalışma yapılması sonucunu doğurmuştur. Adı geçen kasidelerin en eskisi ve en fazla rağbet göreni ise İmruulkays’a aittir. Bu makalede, son dönem Osmanlı âlim ve bürokratlarından Hersekli Mehmed Kâmil Bey’in İmruulkays muallakasına yaptığı tercümeele alınmaktadır

Abstract

The odes that belong to the pre-Islamic era and are known as “mu’allaqat” have been recognized as the most outstanding texts of Arabic Literature. The use of literary works as evidences in Islamic sciences especially in the science of Qur’anic exegesis has led to a great increase in the importance of poetry in general and the odes in particular. The interest shown to the odes throughout the history has resulted in the production of a lot of works on odes such as their translations and interpretations etc. The oldest and the most adored one of the odes belongs to Imru’ al-Qais. In this article, it is dealt with the translation of Imru’ al-Qays’s odes made by Mahmad Kamil Bey of Herzegovina, one of the Ottoman scholars and bureaucrats of the later period
