Özet
Süveyş kanalı yoluyla Akdeniz’e gelen balık türleri arasında balıkçılık sektörüne en fazla zararı veren tür, balon veya kirpi balığı adıyla bilinen Lagocephalus sceleratus’tur. Lagocephalus sceleratus (Balon balığı) türü, hem balıkçılık hem de habitatlar için en yıkıcı ve agresif türdür. Tüketildiğinde insan sağlığı için büyük risk oluşturan, çok güçlü bir zehir olan Tetrodotoksin (TTX) barındırır. Ayrıca Lagocephalus sceleratus’lar balık ağlarını ve oltalarını tahrip ederek balıkçılar için ekonomik kayıplara neden olurlar. Bu derlemenin amacı, Lagocephalus sceleratus'un güncel durumunu, sağlık risklerini ve Akdeniz ve yakın denizlerdeki yayılımını irdelemektir.
Abstract
Among the fish species arriving in the Mediterranean via the Suez Canal, the species that causes the most damage to the fishing industry is Lagocephalus sceleratus, known as the puffer fish. The puffer fish is the most destructive and aggressive species for both fisheries and habitats. It contains Tetrodotoxin (TTX), a very strong poison that poses a great risk to human health when consumed. In addition, Lagocephalus sceleratus causes economic losses for fishermen by destroying fishing nets and fishing lines. The purpose of this review is to examine the current status, health risks and distribution of Lagocephalus sceleratus in the Mediterranean and near seas.
