Özet
Küreselleşmenin hızlı teknolojik gelişmeler sayesinde daha da hız kazandığı 21. yüzyıl da, ülkelerin en temel hedefi toplum refah seviyesini artırmaktır. Toplumun refah seviyesinin artırılması için gelişmekte olan ekonomilerde özellikle ekonomik büyüme üzerinde durulsa da; gelir eşitsizliği, yoksulluk, işsizlik, kültürel değişim, sağlık, eğitim, çevre ve iklim değişikliği gibi etkenler yüksek refah seviyesinin gerçekleştirilebilmesi için gerekli diğer faktörler arasında sayılmaktadır. Sadece ekonomik yönüyle de değil, çok yönlü bir süreç olan ekonomik kalkınma; finansal gelişme, nüfus artışı, teknolojik ilerleme, tarım ve beşerî sermaye gibi çeşitli faktörleri içinde barındırmaktadır. Bu nedenle bu çalışmada, Türkiye ekonomisinin 1990-2017 dönemi yıllık verileri kullanılarak, küreselleşme ve iktisadi kalkınma arasındaki ilişkinin varlığı güncel zaman serisi teknikleri ile sınanmaktadır. Ekonometrik bulgular sonucunda, Türkiye ekonomisinin küreselleşme endeksleri ve kalkınma kriterleri arasındaki ilişki ampirik olarak kanıtlanmaktadır.
Abstract
In the 21st century, when globalization gained momentum thanks to the rapid technological developments, the main objective of the countries was to increase the level of society welfare. In order to increase the welfare level of the society, especially economic growth in developing economies is emphasized; factors such as income inequality, poverty, unemployment, cultural change, health, education, environment and climate change are among the other factors necessary for achieving high levels of welfare. Economic development, which is a multi-faceted process, not only in its economic aspect; also incorporates various factor like financial development, population growth, technological progress, agriculture and human capital. Therefore, in this study, using annual data for the 1990-2017 period, for Turkish economy, the existence of the relationship between globalization and economic development is tested with the current time series techniques. As a result of econometric findings, the relationship between globalization and development criterions of Turkish economy is evidenced by empirically.
