Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, 1974-2018 döneminde demokrasi rejiminin doğrudan yabancı yatırımlara etkisini araştırmaktır. Demokrasi rejiminin ekonomik yapının gelişimine katkıda bulunup bulunmadığı konusunda az sayıda çalışma yapılmakta olup demokrasinin doğrudan yabancı yatırımların artmasının bir nedeni olup olmadığı araştırılmaktadır. Çalışmada PP ve ADF birim kök testleri kullanılarak değişkenlerin durağanlık durumları incelenmiştir. Değişkenler arasında nedensellik ilişkisinin olup olmadığı Toda-Yamamoto Nedensellik Testi uygulaması yapılarak test edilmiştir. Birim kök testlerinden elde edilen sonuçlarda değişkenlerin birinci farkında durağan oldukları belirlenmiştir. Toda-Yamamoto nedensellik analizinde demokrasiden doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarına çift yönlü bir nedensellik bulunmuştur
Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the democracy regime on foreign direct investments in the period of 1974-2018. Few studies have been conducted to see whether the democracy regime contributes to the development of the economic structure and whether there is a reason for the increase in foreign direct investment. In this study, the stationarity of the variables was examined by using PP and ADF unit root tests. Toda-Yamamoto Causality Test was used to test the causality between the variables. Results from unit root tests in the Toda-Yamamoto causality analysis, a two-way causality from democracy to direct foreign investments was found.
