Hyperplasia of the bilateral coronoid processes causes limitation of mouth opening due to impingement of coronoid process with the temporal surface of the zygomatic bone, or with the medial surface of the zygomatic arch. The condition can be diagnosed by panoramic radiographs or with computerized tomography scans.
