İlköğretim Öğrencilerinin Okuma Profilinin “Okuma Eğilimleri” Bağlamında İncelenmesi*

Özet
Öz Okumayı etkileyen önemli faktörlerden biri bireyin okuma eğilimidir. Eğilim; yaş, cinsiyet, eğitim, bireysel farklılıklar, gelişim özellikleri vb. gibi birçok unsurdan etkilenebilir ve zamanla değişebilir. Bu çalışma, Türkiye’nin yedi coğrafi bölgesinin her birinden tesadüfî örneklemle alınan toplam 16 okulda öğrenim gören 2045 ilköğretim öğrencisi ile yapılmıştır. Öğrencilerin okuma eğilimlerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla ilköğretim ikinci kademeye karşılık gelen ortalama 12-15 yaş grubunu kapsayan 6, 7 ve 8. sınıf öğrencileri örneklem olarak seçilmiştir. İlköğretim öğrencilerinin genel okuma eğilimlerini tespit etmek amacıyla yapılan bu çalışmada, hazırlanan anket aracılığı ile okuma eğilimlerinin, okuma profillerinin ve sonuç olarak okuma alışkanlıklarının tespit edilmesine çalışılmıştır. Çalışmada anket aracılığı ile toplanan veriler, SPSS programı ile frekans analizi yapılmasıyla elde edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak öğrencilerin okudukları kitapları seçmelerinde bireysel tercihlerinin diğer seçeneklere göre daha etkili olduğu, bireysel tercihlere bağlı olarak okumaktan hoşlandıkları konular ve türler ile okumaktan hoşlanmadıkları/tercih etmedikleri türlerin kız ve erkek öğrenciler yönünde farklılaştığı bulgularına ulaşılmıştır.
Abstract
One of the important factors affecting reading is the individual's tendency to read. The tendency may be affected by many factors such as age, sex, education, individual differences, and developmental characteristics and so on; also it may change in time. This study was conducted including 2045 students from 16 schools and these participants were chosen randomly from 7 geographical regions of Turkey. In order to determine the reading tendency of the students, 6th, 7th and 8th grade students were chosen as the sample of the study, which actually corresponds to 12-15 age group in primary school. In this study, which aims to find out the reading tendency of the students, it is tried to determine the tendency of reading, the profile of reading and reading habits via a questionnaire. The data collected through questionnaire in the study were obtained by frequency analysis by using SPSS. As a result, it is seen that individual preferences are more effective while choosing a book to read, and accordingly it is apparent that because of the individual preferences, the themes and kinds of the books which they like/ don't like/ prefer/don't prefer have differed.
