Özet
Doğum sonu dönemde anneler yaşamın diğer dönemlerine oranla duygusal sorunları daha sık yaşamaktadır. Bu sorunlardan en sık rastlananı postpartum depresyondur. Depresyon tablosu hafif depresif belirtilerden başlayıp, psikotik özellikli depresyona kadar değişebilir. Depresif belirtilerin derecesi ne olursa olsun, varlığı bireyin ilişkilerini sürdürmesini engelleyerek evde, işte ve sosyal alanlarda problemler yaşamasına neden olur. Hemşireler, depresif belirtiler görülen bireye profesyonel destek sağlamada önemli sağlık çalışanlarıdır. Bütüncül yaklaşımla verilen hemşirelik bakımı depresif belirtileri azaltarak/gidererek ciddi depresyon tablosunu önleyebilir. Bu makale postpartum depresyon belirtileri görülen kadınlara bakım veren hemşirelerin girişimlerine rehberlik etmesi amacıyla yazılmıştır. Makalede postpartum depresif belirtiler gösteren kadınlara yönelik hemşirelik tanıları ve hemşirelik bakımı ele alınmıştır.
