Abstract

Ebola virus disease is a severe disease that causes haemorrhagic fever in humans and animals. The current outbreak is in several African countries. As long as precautions are taken, there is low risk of contracting Ebola, even in a country where the disease is present. Where the virus is present, people who have close contact with infected humans are most at risk. These people include laboratory or quarantine facility workers, hospital staff, and family members caring for patients.MERS CoV an emerging viral respiratory illness caused by a Coronovirus, it can cause more severe illness with flulike symptoms. Although mainly currently restricted to Middle Eastern countries, MERS-CoV was reported from at least 10 other countries in Europe, Asia and the United States. Nosocomial transmission of MERS-CoV has occurred because of poor infection control measures. Specific molecular diagnostic tests are available. Currently, there are no specific drugs for prevention or treatment for MERS-CoV and vaccine development is in the early stages. The purpose of this report is to provide a brief update on Ebola and MERS-CoV epidemiology and to notify health care providers, public health officials, and others and to maintain awareness of the need to consider Ebola and MERSCoV infection in persons who have recently traveled from countries in or near the related areas. It is not possible to be oblivious to an emerging infectious disease anywhere in the world that at this age that all kinds of communication and international travel increased. Therefore health care workers should follow closely to these important agents for both their health and public health.
