Abstract

This study concentrates on the analysis of an aphirismal utterance to do with human educationstated by Goethe, in the light of Aristotles’ concepts and thoughts. The analysis concentrates onwhat has been uttered, what it could have been and what it could be. Within the light of the analysisconducted, the Turkish educational system is analysed with a critical approach. The study strives toprove that the present educational conception - within the light of Turkish social history- dependson a pragmatical and instrumentalist approach
