Üniversite Sınavına Hazırlanan Ortaöğretim Öğrencilerinin Covid 19 Sürecinde Gerçekleştirilen Dijital Eğitime Yönelik Görüşleri

Views of Secondary School Students Preparing for the University Entrance Exam on Digital Education in the Covid 19 Process

Özet

Bu çalışma koronavirüse karşı eğitim alanında alınan tedbirler sonucunda dijital eğitime geçilmesine ilişkin süreç hakkında üniversite sınavına hazırlanan 12. sınıf öğrencilerinin görüşlerinin değerlendirilmesi için yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 4 kadın, 3 erkek olmak üzere üniversite sınavına hazırlanan lise son sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Var olan bir durumun etkilerinin derinlemesine incelenmesi için nitel çalışma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması ile araştırma yürütülmüştür. Veri toplama aracı olarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Toplanan verilerin analizinde içerik analizinden faydalanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda dijital eğitim platformları yani EBA ile TRT EBA TV aracılığıyla gerçekleştirilen uzaktan eğitimin verimsiz ve yetersiz olduğunu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca Covid-19 pandemisinin eğitimi olumsuz yönde etkilemesinin yanı sıra sınava hazırlık sürecinde sınavın ertelenmesi ile öğrencilere eksiklerini tamamlamaları için fırsat oluştuğu tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the views of 12th-grade students, four of them females and three of males, preparing for the university entrance exam on the transition to digital education due to the measures taken in the educational field to prevent the spread of the Covid 19 pandemic. The study was designed as a case study, a type of qualitative research method that enables an in-depth analysis of an existing case. A semi-structured interview form was used to collect data, and content analysis was performed for the analysis of the data collected. The measures taken against the Covid 19 pandemic required that education be moved to digital platforms and continued as distance education. As a result, 12th-grade students have had to continue their education, including preparing for the university entrance exam, in a digital format, an experience that has led to some problems related to adapting to this new system. Students have been significantly affected by the pandemic due to the changes they have had to make to their study strategies. This study, therefore, aimed to examine 12th -grade students' views on digital education during the Covid 19 pandemic. The results indicated that distance education that is performed through digital education platforms, like EBA, and TRT-EBA TV is ineffective and insufficient. It was further determined however that outside of the adverse effects that the Covid 19 pandemic has had on education, the delay of the university entrance exam provides students the opportunity to address any deficiencies they may have in academic subjects.
