CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED IN THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN BY INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP

Özet

Her inşaat projesi benzersizdir ve bu nedenle kendine has özellikler doğrultusunda yönetilmeyi gerektirmektedir. İnşaat firmaları arasında uluslararası ortaklık oluşturmanın temel amacı, projeyi başarılı bir şekilde tamamlamak için teknolojik ve finansal kaynaklarını birleştirmektir. Ancak uluslararası ortaklıkta yer alan her firma kendi yaklaşımına ve kültürüne göre yönetim sürecini takip etmek istemektedir. Bu durum tarafların proje yönetimi sürecinde oluşan bir problemin çözümünde farklı kararlar almasına sebep olabilmektedir. Bu nedenlerden dolayı, hem projenin hem de ortaklığın başarısı olumsuz bir şekilde etkilenebilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı uluslararası ortaklık ile üstlenilen yapı projelerinin proje yönetimi sürecinde karşılaşılan başlıca sorunları sunmaktır.

Abstract

Every construction project is unique and thereby requires to be managed with respect to its own features. The main aim of forming international partnership between the construction companies is to join their technologic and financial resources to complete the project successfully. However, every company within international partnership wants to run the whole management process according to its own approach and culture. This situation may cause partners to make different decisions in solving of the problem occurring in the project management process. For these reasons, the success of both the project and partnership can be negatively affected. The aim of this study is to present major challenges encountered in the project management process of construction projects undertaken by international partnership.
