Özet
İstanbul'da Edirnekapısı'na giden yol hattının güneyinde yer alan Kasımağa Mescidi, küçük ölçeklibir yapıdır. İlkin Bizans döneminde inşâ edilen yapı Osmanlı döneminde Kasım Ağa tarafından kendiadıyla tanınacak mescide çevrilmiştir. Aslî işlevi ve yapım tarihi bilinmemektedir. 20 m. kadar kuzeydoğusundabüyük bir kapalı sarnıç bulunmaktadır. Sarnıcın, bir yapının altyapısı olduğu düşünülebilir.Mescid, geçirdiği deprem ve yangınlardan dolayı zamanla harap olduğundan 1976-77 yıllarındaVakıflar Genel Müdürlüğü tarafından yeniden ayağa kaldırılmıştır. Bu sırada, kuzey bitişiğinde kaIıntılarıgörülen mekân tamamlanmamıştır. Müdahaleler ve işçilik açısından, yeniden ayağa kaldı-rılan bir yapı olması noktasında önemli aşamalar kaydedilmiştir. Bazı noksanlıklara rağmen yine de yapı ölçeğinde başarılı bir restorasyon çalışması yapılmıştır.
Abstract
The Kasımağa Masjid is small structure located at the Fatih district region of Istanbul on the southernway of the road leading to the Edirnekapı neighborhood. Originally Byzantine structure,it was converted to masjid upon the Ottoman conquest Kasım Agha. The original function andthe construction date of the building are still unknown. large covered cistern is located 20 metersnorth-west of the structure. This cistern may have been the foundation of another building.The Masjid badly damaged by earthquakes and fires was restored in1976-77 by the General Directorateof Foundation. During this restoration another adjacent structure in the north was leftout. Despite the flaws of this extensive intervention the restoration work should be considered A successful one.
