Condolence In Classical Arabic Literature

Abstract

In many cultures, to visit relatives of a dead person in order to console them and sendletters expressing condolences is a common practice. Expressions and statements usedfor condolence are close even if the cultures could differ from each other. This articletries to examine approaches and attitudes toward death in Arab customs and culturewith reference to examples of condolences in the Classical Arabic Literature.
