Özet

İsrail’in kuruluşuyla ilgili İsrail karşıtı, İslam ve Arap yanlısı bazı akademisyenler, İsrail’in kuruluşunun Balfour Deklarasyonu ile başlatılan ve İngilizlerin Yahudi sempatisi ile desteklenen bir İngiliz-Yahudi ittifakının sonucu olduğu varsayımına dayandırmaktadır. Bu makalede 19.yüzyıldan başlayarak İngilizlerin Yahudilere yönelik algısının tarihi gözden geçirilerek Balfour Deklarasyonu’nun bir Yahudi-İngiliz iş birliğinin ve İngilizlerin Yahudi sempatisinin sonucu olduğu varsayımının incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Literatürde var olan çeşitli yaklaşımların incelenmesi sonucunda İngiltere’nin gerek toplumsal gerekse siyasal kurumlarının antisemitist/Yahudi karşıtı olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. İngiltere’nin Yahudi yanlısı olarak görülmesinin nedeninin ise İngiliz dış politikası ve İngiliz emperyalizminin stratejilerini gerçekleştirmek için Yahudileri araçsallaştırması olduğu anlaşılmıştır

Abstract

Some of the anti-Israel, pro-Islamic, and pro-Arab literature related with the foundation of Israel is widely based on the assumption that the foundation of Israel is a result of an Anglo-Jewish alliance initiated with the Balfour Declaration and supported by the British sympathy for the Jews. In this article it is aimed to review the history of the British perception of the Jews starting from 19th century to search for the essence of British Semitism in order to comprehend that it was Great Britain and its Semitist politicians united with the Jews founded the Balfour Declaration through a literature review. Through the review of the literature of the various approaches it is found out that the British society from its social to political institutions was an antisemitic society. Therefore, it was the national and international political requirements of the British politicians which produced pro-Jewish policies, and instrumentalized the Jews to realize strategies of British imperialism
