Özet

Bir Rus papazı olan Daniil, XII. Yü2yılın başlarında Kudüs'e gitmiştir. Dönüşünden sonra deneyimlerini bir seyahat kitabına yazmaya başladı. Bu eser birkaç nedenden ötürü önemlidir. Öncelikle o bu esnada Haçlıların idaresinde olan Kudüs ve buranın kent planından bahseder. Bundan başka geçtiği İstanbul ve Kıbrıs arasındaki yoldan da bahseder. Onun bunlardan bahsetmesindeki neden dindaşlarına yolu tarif etmekti. Bununla birlikte o sadece yoldan bahsetmez, aynı zamanda uğradığı yerlerin sosyal ve ekonomik yapısı hakkında da bilgiler verir. Bahsettiği duraklar Marmara, Bozcaada, Midilli, Sakız, Sisam, İkari, Batnaz, İleriye, Tiklos, İstanköy, Harki, Rodos adaları ve Gelibolu, Aydos, Kazdağları, Selçuk, Fethiye, Patara, Antalya ve Kıbrıs'tı.

Abstract

At the beginning of the 12th century Priest Daniil, who is one of the Russian Priest had gone to Jerusalem. After his return he began to write his experiences in a travel book. This book is important for several reasons. First of all, he tells about Jerusalem under reign of Crusaders and its city plan. Furthermore, he mentions about the ways he passed between Istanbul and Cyprus. The main reason why he told these ways was to describe that ways to his coreligionists. However, he did not only tell about the ways, he also gave information related to social and economical structure of the stations where he called at. The mentioned stations were Marmara, Bozcaada, Lesbos, Chios, Samos, İkari, Batnaz, ileriye, Tiklos, Kos, Harki, Rhodes islands and Galipoli, Aydos, İda, Selçuk, Fethiye, Patara, Antalya and Cyprus.
