Özet

Amaç: Araştırma üniversitede öğrenim gören erkek öğrencilerin doğumda eş desteğine ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırma tanımlayıcı türde olup, evrenini Karadeniz Bölgesi’nde bir vakıf üniversitesinin Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi’nde eğitim gören erkek öğrenciler oluşturmuştur. Veriler; Temmuz-Eylül 2020 tarihlerinde, araştırmacılar tarafından literatür doğrultusunda hazırlanan soru formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır, ancak Covid-19 pandemisi ve uzaktan eğitim sürecinden dolayı belirlenen tarihlerde öğrencilerin e-maillerine gönderilerek online olarak kaydedilmiştir. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 21.87±1.55 yıldır. Çalışmaya katılan Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi öğrencilerinin %29.7’si spor bilimleri, %24.1’i hemşirelik, %13.9’u beslenme ve diyetetik, %11.6’sı çocuk gelişimi ile geriye kalan %20.7’si odyoloji, sağlık yönetimi, sosyal hizmet, fizyoterapi ve rehabilitasyon bölümlerinde eğitim görmektedir. Erkek öğrencilerin %92.1’ doğumda eşini cesaretlendirmek, %88.4’i bebeğiyle ten teması kurmak, %90.7’si bebeğinin ilk ağlamasını duymak isterken, benzer oran eşi ile beraber doğuma hazırlık kursuna katılım isteğinde görülememiştir (%67.9). Erkek öğrencilerin de doğuma ilişkin korku (%30) ve paniklerinin (%31) olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç: Üniversitelerde doğuma hazırlık/gebe bilgilendirme eğitimlerine ilişkin seminerler/söyleşiler düzenlenmesi, profesyonel öğretici eğitim video seçeneklerinin sunulması, kitapçık, broşür verilmesi, uygun olan seçmeli derslerine konu olarak alınması önerilmektedir.
