BATI SANATI MODERNİZMİNDE GİZEMCİLİK VE MİSTİSİZM

Özet

Araştırma ve Yayın Etiğine uygun olarak hazırlanmış bu makale, Batı santında modernizmle birlikte değişen felsefi ve inanç biçimlerinin sanata etkisi üzerine yapılmış bir araştırma niteliğindedir. 19. yüzyılda birbiri ardına gelen bilimsel buluşlar eşliğinde Batı Sanatı büyük dönüşümler yaşamıştır. Bu dönüşümde, geleneksel sanat tarihi kitaplarında geçen özerkleşme çabaları içinde üzerinde pek durulmayan konulardan biri de sanatçının manevi dünyasındaki değişimlerdir. Bilimin göz ardı edilemeyecek yükselişinin yaşandığı bu çağda din, felsefe ve sanat büyük sınavlar vermektedir. Sanat gittikçe laikleşen bir ortamda özgürleşirken, sanatını ifade etmede yeni yollar keşfetmeye çalışan kimi sanatçılar, farklı kültürlerin sanatı ve inanışları ile Hristiyanlığın harmanlandığı mistik eğilimlere ilgi duymuşlardır. Bilimsel akıl çağına ters düşmeyen aksine onunla paralel bu mistik eğilimler, sanatçının kendi ikonografisi ve mitlerini yaratma çabasında ona yardımcı olmuş ve yepyeni bir görsel deneyimin yaşanmasına neden olmuştur. Makale içerisinde genel olarak bu eğilimlerin peşinden giden ve sanat tarihinde iz bırakan belli başlı sanatçılar araştırılmıştır.

Abstract

This article, which has been prepared in accordance with Research and Publication Ethics, is research on the effect of changing philosophical and belief forms on art with modernism in Western art. In the 19th century, Western Art experienced great transformation in the company of scientific discoveries that came one after another. In this transformation, one of the issues which is not much emphasized in the efforts of autonomy in traditional art history books is the changes in the spiritual world of artist. Religion, philosophy and art give great tests in this age when science is experiencing an undeniable rise. The artist, who was came alone with a secularizing understanding art, tried to discover new ways to express her/ himself and her/him art. For the western artist, who is trying to grasp the art and beliefs of different cultures of the world, a new beginning experience has made her/his tendency? to the issues that are not discussed in the generally accepted Christian teachings and have made different mystical formations debatable. Although the acceleration of mystical art contradicted the age of scientific reason, it helped the artist in his effort to create his own iconography and myths, and a brand new visual experience was experienced. In the article, the artists who followed these trends and left their mark in the history of art were researched.
