It is a cross-sectional study covering the period between December 1, 2019 and February 29, 2020. Five national printed newspapers with a total circulation of one million, 455 issues and the number of health news included in its supplement were analyzed in terms of their sources, publication time and con-tent.“Nutrition” news accounts for about half of the total (43.4%) 1448 news articles. Physicians are the source of 52.3% of health news. The source of 36.3% of the news is unknown. The subject of 85% of news related to nutrition is "the effects of food on health". The origin of 55.6% (n:349) of the 628-news related to nutrition is unknown. It was found that 171 of the known nutrition-al news were written by a physician (27.2%), 89 of them were dieticians (14.2%), 6 were research results (1%) and 13 were obtained from other sources (2%). The source of about one third of health news and more than half of nutrition news is unknown. News of un-known origin misleads the society and poses a risk to public health.
