Özet
Finans alanındaki olgulara, geleneksel finans teorilerinin aksine, bireylerin davranış biçimlerine dayalı açıklamalar getiren davranışsal finans teorilerinin bir bölümü, bu çalışmada yapılan araştırma ile test edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın amacı, yatırım kararlarında alınan risk düzeyinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırma, İstanbul ilinde, tekstil sektöründe faaliyet gösteren KOBİ’lerin karar alma kademesindeki kişilerle yüzyüze görüşmeler yapılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Karar alımını gerektiren standart yatırım senaryoları ile karşılaşan yatırımcıların yanıtları, çalışmanın hipotezlerini test etmekte kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın hipotezleri, beklenti teorisinin ve mental muhasebe kuramının varsayımlarına dayandırılmıştır. Araştırmada test edilmek istenen hipotezler genel hatlarıyla şöyle özetlenebilir: Yatırımcılar, kazanç durumunda riskten kaçınan, kayıp durumunda ise riski sever bir tutum içinde bulunurlar ve gelir ve kar, “kazanç” kavramıyla aynı mental hesapta, harcama ve maliyet ise “kayıp” kavramıyla aynı mental hesapta tutulur. Toplam beş adet senaryo grubu hazırlanmıştır ve bu senaryo gruplarının içinde toplam oniki adet senaryo bulunmaktadır. Oniki senaryonun sekizinin bulguları beklenen sonuçları destekler niteliktedir.
Abstract
The aim of this study is to evaluate the risk behavior of investors in investment decisions. The investigation is conducted through the interviews with managers or owners of small and medium size enterprises in textile sector, in İstanbul. The responses of investors to standardized investment scenarios are used to test the hypotheses of the study. The hypotheses of this study are based on the assumptions of prospect theory and mental accounting. It is expected that the investors tend to avoid risk when they evaluate the profits that result from competing decision alternatives, on the other hand, it is expected that the investors tend to be risk taker when they must choose between alternatives that result in losses. Moreover, revenues and profits are evaluated in the same mental account with “gain” and expenditures and costs are evaluated in the same mental account with “loss”. Most of the findings validate the expected results.
