Abstract
Hakîm Shifayi is one of the famous physicians of the era of the Safavid Sultan Sh?h 'Abb?s the Great (Sh?h 'Abb?s I), and is also known as a satire poet. The first Diwan he created consists of satires and travesties. Although he forswore satire in time, it is observed that he could not dispense with this habit in his Diwan which he composed afterwards and in his masnavi poets comprising his Khamsa. He wrote his satire which is the subject of the article about Mumin Khan, one of the viziers of the era. The parts of this satire which has a rich content in terms of the fact that it comprises Arabic phrases, Turkish words and sayings, proper names, and place names; and that it contains certain folkloric elements from entertainments to traditions of the era, were interpreted by Abdulqadir al-Baghdadi. The poem Kâmî of Edirne listened to such interpretations from al-Baghdadi in person, and later transformed his notes into texts
