Abstract
This research aims to study the phenomena of incidence of metaphor in the Holy Quran whence proving it. Many studies about metaphor have been conducted more than any other rhetorical subjects by scientists and legists for it's important and relation of it's incidence in the god's book and its presence or absence in the Qur'an has become a matter of debate among some scholars, jurists and linguists. Some of the jurists and Explanatories such as Dawud Al-Zuhairi, Abu Muslim Al-Asfani, Mohi Al-Din Ibn AlArabi and the founder of the Predecessor Method; Ibn Taymiyyah went to support the literal reading of the Qur’an and that the verses that require the anthropomorphism of God and which contain the words (hand, face, advent, eye, etc. ... etc.) does not contain a metaphor. And the second school that opposes the notion of the absence of metaphors such as Al-Tahnawi, Ibn Qutaybah and Badr Al-Din Al-Zarkashi said that the Qur’an is identical to the Arabic grammar, which it is includes the metaphor. While a third view, although they accepts the metaphor in the Arabic language, but they rejects its presence in the Qur’an. This research was based on an analysis of the opinions of scholars who talk about the phenomenon of metaphor. This research was based on the analysis of the opinions of scientists who talk about the phenomenon of metaphor and we wanted to clarify the evidence for the two teams, and to answer the question: Can the Qur'an to be free of metaphor? And that the meanings of the verses that signify anthropomorphism are real meanings.
