Abstract
Objective: This study aims to assess the multimodal imaging of macula and choroidal thickness with optical coherence tomography, fluorescein angiography and fundus autofluorescence in patients with central serous chorioretinopathy. Material and Method: Eighty-eight eyes of 44 patients were included in the study. The patients were divided into 4 groups. Group I consists of eyes with inactive central serous chorioretinopathy, acute and chronic central serous chorioretinopathic eyes were included in Group II, Group III included the other healthy eyes of patients in Group I and Group II, and the eyes of healthy individuals without cent ral serous chorioretinopathic diagnosis in Group IV were included as control groups. Axial length, central macular thickness, subfoveal choroidal thickness, peripapillary choroidal thickness measurements and fluorescein angiography, fundus autofluorescence image features were examined. Results: Central macular thickness and subfoveal choroidal thickness values were found to be higher on all quadrants than in other groups in Group II. Mean subfoveal choroidal thickness values in eyes with inactive central serous chorioretinopathy were higher in all quadrants than the healthy control group. In all groups, there was a significant positive correlation between central macular thickness and subfoveal choroidal thickness values, and a significant negative correlation between axial length and subfoveal choroidal thickness values. In Group II, 16 ink-blot signs were observed in fluorescein angiography images in the affected eyes. In fundus autofluorescence imaging, granular pattern of hyperotofluorescence was observed in 12 eyes in Group I. Conclusion: The use of multimodal imaging methods can provide the physician with a better follow-up by providing comprehensive information about the diagnosis of the disease and its changes over time.
