Some interesting observations on Iris pamphylica

Özet

Iris pamphylica, yalnızca Antalya il sınırları içinde bulunan Türkiye'ye özgü çok ilginç bir türdür. Botanik açıdan en önemli özelliği, onun Hermodactyloides altcinsi (Reticuiata Grubu) soğanlı irislerle Limniris altcinsi rizomlu irisleri arasında bir bağlantıyı temsil etmesidir. Bu nedenle I. pamphylica, İris cinsinin evrimi bakımından çok önemli bir türdür. Bu yazıda I. pamphylica 'nın ilk kez toplandığı yerden başka, yine Antalya il sınırları içinde küçük ve dağınık popülasyonlar halinde tespit edilmesi ve gerek botanik ve gerekse doğa koruma bakımındantaşıdığı önem vurgulanmaktadır.

Abstract

Iris pamphylica is a most interesting species endemic to Turkey, confined'to the vilayet of Antalya. The great , importance of I.pamphylica, botanically speaking, lies in the fact that it represents a link between the bulbous irises of subgenus Hermodactyloides (the "Reticuiata Group") and the basically rhizomatous irises of subgenus Limniris. It is therefore a very significant species in terms of the evolutionatyl, history of the genus Iris. In this article it is shown for the first time that the plant has a wider distribution than was previously thought, be it still in small populations and still in the locality of Antalya. This is significant both from the point of view of botany and of nature conservation.
