Abstract
Macrobenthic Fauna (Oligochaeta, Chironomidae) of KemerDam Lake (Aydın)In order to detect the distribution of Macrobenthic fauna of Kemer Dam Lake, Aydın province, monthly samples were collected between December 2004 and November 2005. The sampleswere taken from 5 stations by an Ekman-Birge Grab. As a result of study, totally 12 taxa 10from Oligochaeta and 2 from Chironomidae were determined. According to the quantitativeanalyses, 536 individuals in m² on an average in lake. Oligochaeta, the most crowded group, was represented by 498 ind/ m² and Chironomidae was represented by 38 ind/ m². In thebenthic fauna (totally 6428 individuals) Oligochaeta is the dominant group (92.72 %).Chironomidae was represented with a rate of 7.28 %. When the percentage of these groupsaccording to the stations were compared, station 1 was the richest (73.96 %) and stations 4 wasthe poorest (2.12 %). The benthos of dam lake was rich in qualitative aspect while poorquantitatively (536 ind/ m²). In addition, finding of Procladius (Holotanypus) sp., which is anindicator species of oligotrophic lakes, indicates that benthos of Kemer Dam Lake can bedetermined as oligotrophic class. All of the species are firstly recorder fort his dam lake.
