Abstract
Aim: Chromophobe renal cell carcinoma comprises % 4-10 of the total casesof RCC. In this study we aim to determine frequency, clinical outcome andsurvival of chromophobe renal cell carcinoma in a large radical nephrectomyseries. Material and Method: Between January 2001 and April 2013, 352patients with regular follow-up and the diagnosis of localized or metastaticRCC treated with surgery were included in this study. Evaluated in the context of the records of these patients were analyzed in chromophobe RCC.Mean follow-up time was 37.12 months. Results: 21 of 352 RCC patientswere diagnosed as chromophobe RCC. All of the patients ranged from pathologic stage pT1-2. None of the pathology was observed multifocality andmicrovascular invasion. There was no lymph node or distant metastasis withlong term follow-up and 5-year disease-specific survival was 100%. Discussion: Despite the pressing need for more studies to determine diagnosticand prognostic tools, chromophobe renal cell carcinoma of kidney have goodprognostic features.
